A brief history of the castle
Originally built in the late 18th century, around the time of the French Revolution, Château Lacbleu was a great success and quickly became a local landmark in Bordeaux. It grew rapidly over the decades as wine production and consumption increased across the continent.
However, even this magnificent vineyard was not spared from the great phylloxera epidemic of the 19th century that devastated vineyards throughout Europe. As a result, winemaking almost ceased at the château and it was some time before it restarted. It was during this period that the owner decided to turn to trade for the emerging global wine market.
Over the course of its history, the château has passed through the hands of several notable owners – including the distinguished Audebert family. It was under the care of the Audeberts that the Château Lacbleu vines were restored to once again become among the best in the region.

Today, we maintain the tradition of growing our own wines. However, our main focus remains on sourcing high-quality local wines from vineyards in some of France's best appellations and bringing them to wine lovers around the world.
Did you know that there are over 6,000 vineyards in Bordeaux alone? Yet most people can only name a handful. The reality is that there are many beautiful wines grown in France that do not receive the recognition they deserve. Often, production volumes are too small to be viable on their own and they end up being blended with lesser wines and sold en masse to supermarkets or wholesalers. Our challenge is to find these wines and bring them to you at the most competitive prices. The Lacbleu brand exists to bring you these exceptional wines, direct from the producers, with true provenance and complete transparency. It is a challenge we love and each year, Château Lacbleu ships over 60,000 bottles of wine to our customers primarily in Europe and Asia. All of our wines are already taxed, stored in our wine cellar and ready to be purchased online from our wine shop.

In addition to our dedication to wine, our beautiful chateau is also a family home where you are always welcome to come and stay and explore the region. We offer a wide range of room types, from double rooms to family suites. Some guests even prefer to camp outside. It’s entirely up to you. And if you want to celebrate a special occasion, then you can rent the entire venue and offer accommodation to your guests.
